Mascara, lipstick and foundation stains are really tough stains. So to remove them effectively, they need pre-treatment with a detergent designed to remove greasy stains. The most effective solution to remove mascara, lipstick or foundation stains from clothes is Ariel liquid, as it has surfactants that remove anything greasy from fabrics, especially in hot temperatures. So follow the instructions below and get rid of those pesky mascara, lipstick, foundation or other make up stains in the 1st go.
Cosmetics are made to help you look your best. Yet when they get onto your clothes, they can do the opposite. Lipstick, blusher, mascara and even sunscreen have a habit of staining your favourites. Cosmetics are meant to be temporary, not permanent.
Yet while you may be told that bleach is the best tool for makeup stain removal, Ariel knows another way that doesn’t involve experimenting with your fabrics. Watch our step by step guide on how to get rid of cosmetic stains from clothing, or read the instructions below.
Removing cosmetic stains
Pour Ariel Liquid Detergent directly onto the makeup stain, enough to completely cover the stain. You can pour from either the bottle or the cap.
Spread the detergent over the makeup stain with the pre-treat cap. The flexible fins of the cap can help spread the detergent over the surface of the stain as well as into the garment’s fibres.
Without washing off the detergent, place the garment into the washing machine with other items. Leaving the detergent on the stain will boost your wash performance.
The cap is also a dosing device. Just fill it with the correct dose of detergent and place it directly into your washing machine drum, on top of the clothes.
Wash with the usual cycle, at the highest indicated temperature. Always make sure to follow the instructions on the garment’s care label.
After the wash cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.
Effective stain removal on many stains
Of course, makeup stains aren’t the only stains likely to happen day to day. That red wine stain may happen on a night out when drinks will get spilt. At a restaurant, some chocolate stains may land on your dress. Luckily makeup stains aren’t the only stains you can remove with Ariel.
