Stain removal step by step

    Check fabric care labels

Your clothes’ fabric care labels will tell you what should and should not be done, the temperature ranges and more. If you need more information on how to read them, check out our handy guide to fabric care labels.

    Pre-treat

When using powder detergent, fill a bucket or sink with warm or cool water, depending on the type of garment and stain. Generally it is safe to go with cool water. Then add a scoop of powder and mix with your hand. Add the clothes and leave them to soak for at least 30 minutes.

For liquid detergent, you can use Ariel’s handy pre-treat cap. Pour detergent directly onto the stain, and then use the fins on the cap to rub the detergent gently into the stain.

    Load

Add the pre-treated clothes directly into your washing machine’s drum and add other similar clothes to fill. Be sure not to overload your washing machine. If in doubt, place the palm of your hand in the top of your washing machine’s drum. If it doesn’t fit, remove some clothes until it does.

    Dose

Check the side of your pack or bottle to see the correct dose amount. This depends on how dirty your clothes are, how large the load it is, and how hard your water is. For more detailed advice, check out our easy dosing tips.

    Unload

If you leave your clothes in the drum too long, they can go stale, so remove them immediately or within 2 hours maximum for the best freshness.
