Removing rust stains

  • 1

    Remove excess

To start with, brush the excess rust off with a toothbrush or other soft bristled brush.

  • 2

    Dilute the rust

Dilute the rust stain by rinsing it under running cold water. The higher the water pressure, the easier it will be to remove any excess stain.

  • 3

    Soak

In a plastic bucket, create a soaking solution with 3 tablespoons of baking soda and cold water, and let the garment soak for up to 30 minutes.

  • 4

    Pour

Pour Ariel Liquid Detergent directly onto the stain, enough to completely cover the stain. You can pour from either the bottle or the cap.

  • 5

    Load

Without washing off the detergent, place the garment into the washing machine with other items. Leaving the detergent on the stain will boost your wash performance.

  • 6

    Dose

The cap is also a dosing device. Just fill it with the correct dose of detergent and place it directly into your washing machine drum, on top of the clothes.

  • 7

    Wash

Wash with the usual cycle, at the highest indicated temperature. Always make sure to follow the instructions on the garment’s care label.

  • 8

    Unload

After the wash cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.
