Removing outdoor stains

Removing paint stains

To tackle water-based latex, acrylic, emulsion and school paint stains, rinse wet stains under running water then wash with Ariel Original Washing Liquid according to the fabric care label. For dried paints and those that are oil or varnished based, sponge carefully with white spirit or a proprietary paintbrush cleaner (apply in small amounts, and test on a small area before proceeding) before washing.

Removing tar and oil stains

Scrape off as much of the stain as possible. Soften the remainder with margarine or butter and wipe away with a clean cloth. Treat any residual stain with a proprietary tar cleaner then wash with Ariel Original Washing Liquid according to the fabric care label.

Removing daily grime

Daily wear soon leaves collars and cuffs with a layer of dirt that can seem hard to shift. Give your clothes a new lease of life by pre-treating any dirty areas with Ariel Original Washing Liquid and leaving for 10 minutes. Then wash as normal with Ariel Original Washing Liquid.

Removing grass stains

Pre-treat with Ariel Original Washing Liquid, then wash as normal according to the fabric care labels.

Removing mud stains

Let the mud dry and scrape off as much as possible. Pre-treat the remainder with Ariel Original Washing Liquid then wash as normal – all forms of Ariel washing detergent give brilliant results, even at 30 degrees.
