Skin Sense Top Tips
THE SKIN
Too hot water can cause dryness and sensitivity
- For adults, keep bath water at body temperature
- For children, keep water a little cooler and keep bath times quick and fun
Keep bath times quick, cool and fun!
Washing for too long can reduce skin's natural oils increasing the risk of irritation.
If white lines appear on fingers and toes you've been in the bath for too long!
- Pat dry after bath time
- Rough drying after bathing can also aggravate sensitive skin, be sure to pat the skin dry, rather than rubbing.
Moisturise
- Apply a thin layer of lotion in the direction of hair growth
- For a soft and shiny finish, apply a little at a time
- Don't forget face and hands are more exposed and require regular, frequent application
CONTACT WITH FABRICS
Everyday
- Natural fabrics like cotton and linen allow skin to breathe more easily, however they do absorb stains more easily.
Exercising
- When doing exercise, wear soft loose clothing to avoid rubbing on knees and elbows.
Sleeping
- When choosing bed linen, be sure to choose natural fabrics, as they'll be in contact with the fabric all night long. Wash bedding regularly to keep mites and dust at bay.
WASHING YOUR FABRICS
