Banishing natural stains

Banishing natural stains intro

From ground in grass stains to grubby collars, we’ve got plenty of great tips to help you rid your clothes of natural stains.

Quick tip: to pre-treat a stain, soak your garment in Ariel Excel Gel for 10-15 minutes before washing. Longer if the stain is particularly difficult. You can use any pre-treatment spray on cottons and polyesters. On more delicate fabrics such as linens and silks, dab a mild or neutral soap on lightly. Make sure you only pre-treat garments that are able to be washed.

Blood

Rinse fresh blood immediately with cold water then wash in Ariel. Or first treat with Ariel Stain Remover then soak in water containing Ariel for two hours, then wash according to the care label.

Daily grime

Daily wear soon leaves collars and cuffs with a layer of dirt that can seem hard to shift. Give your clothes a new lease of life by pre-treating any dirty areas with Ariel Excel Gel and leaving for one hour. Then wash as normal.

Grass

Pre-treat with Ariel Excel Gel, then wash as normal according to the fabric care label.

Mould/rust

For ordinary fabrics sprinkle on salt and squeeze on lemon juice, then leave overnight before washing as normal. For heavier stains use a rust remover then wash as normal according to the fabric care label. Mould and rust are difficult to remove from fine fabrics (such as wool and silk), and are best treated by dry cleaning.

Mud

Let the mud dry and scrape off as much as possible. Pre-treat the remainder with Ariel Excel Gel then wash as normal – Ariel with Actilift™ Excel Gel gives brilliant results as low as 15 degrees.

Urine

Soak the items in cold water then wash in Ariel according to the fabric care label. Alternatively, treat with Ariel Stain Removers, then wash as normal according to the fabric care label.

Vomit

You don’t want vomit left hanging around so remove as much as possible under running cold water. Soak in water containing Ariel or pre-treat with Ariel Stain Remover, then wash as normal.
